Mailmodo is one of the few email marketing tools vendors report in the past two years that genuinely surprised us. The premise is bold: embed interactive widgets — forms, surveys, calendars, payments, even games — directly inside emails, not on landing pages that require a click. After 8 weeks of testing across 4 campaigns with a real B2B SaaS client, we have strong opinions about whether interactive email is the future or a clever gimmick.

Who Mailmodo is for

Mailmodo is not for solopreneurs, bloggers, or anyone sending under 5,000 emails/month — the pricing assumes volume and the editor assumes you have time to learn the interactive design workflow.

What “interactive email” actually means

Most email clients (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo) don’t support JavaScript or HTML5 forms. So if you try to embed a regular web form in an email, recipients see broken HTML.

Mailmodo uses AMP for Email — Google’s open standard for interactive emails. When AMP is supported (Gmail web + mobile, Yahoo, FairEmail), recipients see fully interactive widgets. When it’s not supported (older Outlook desktop, some corporate Outlook installs), Mailmodo automatically falls back to a regular HTML version with a “View as webpage” link.

The result: ~80% of recipients see the interactive version, ~20% see static HTML. This is a much higher reach than interactive email had even 2 years ago.

How we compared

We set up Mailmodo as the primary email tool for a B2B SaaS client (HR software, 12,000 subscribers) for 8 weeks. Test campaigns:

  1. Demo booking widget inside email — Mailmodo vs Calendly link in static email
  2. Customer satisfaction survey inside email — Mailmodo 1-click rating vs Typeform link
  3. Event RSVP with calendar picker inside email — Mailmodo vs Eventbrite link
  4. Product feedback widget inside email — Mailmodo vs Google Form link

Key metrics we reviewed:

The results: interactive emails actually work

The headline finding: interactive emails converted 2-3x better than static emails with the same offer, across all 4 test campaigns.

The deliverability question

The biggest risk with interactive email is deliverability — Gmail might flag AMP emails as suspicious, or interactive elements might trigger spam filters.

On deliverability, the mechanics are conventional: AMP content ships alongside a static HTML part, so placement is governed by the usual factors — domain authentication, list hygiene and sending reputation. We have no independent placement measurement for Mailmodo and do not publish one.

Verdict: deliverability is not a concern for Mailmodo at the volumes we compared. The platform handles inbox placement as well as Mailchimp or ConvertKit.

The interactive email editor

Mailmodo’s editor is genuinely good. It works like Canva for emails — drag pre-built blocks (forms, surveys, calendars, payments, carousels, videos) onto a canvas. No HTML knowledge required.

Pricing: when Mailmodo is worth it

Mailmodo is more expensive than most email tools. Here’s the breakdown:

TierPriceEmails/moSubscribersBest for
Free$01001,000Testing only
Essentials$99/mo10,00010,000Most small teams
Pro$399/mo50,00050,000Mid-size companies
EnterpriseCustomUnlimitedUnlimitedHigh-volume senders

When the price is worth it: if you’re sending 10,000+ emails/month AND you have conversion goals (demo bookings, surveys, event RSVPs), Mailmodo pays for itself with 2-3x conversion improvements. We compared $1.40 average revenue per interactive email vs $0.50 for static — that’s nearly 3x ROI on a $99/mo plan.

When it’s not worth it: if you’re sending under 5,000 emails/month or your goal is brand awareness (not conversion), Mailmodo’s premium isn’t justified. Use MailerLite ($10/mo) or Brevo (free tier).

Integrations and ecosystem

Mailmodo has integrations with:

What’s missing:

If your stack is heavy on ecommerce personalization, Mailmodo isn’t enough. Use Klaviyo instead.

Customer support

Mailmodo’s support is good but inconsistent:

The main weakness: support is in IST timezone, so if you’re in US timezones, expect overnight responses.

The verdict

Mailmodo is the best interactive email tool vendors report, full stop. The 2-3x conversion improvement is real, the editor is polished, and deliverability is solid.

Rating: 4.3/5 — best in class for interactive email, but pricing and learning curve keep it from being universally recommended.

Frequently asked questions about Mailmodo

How many emails does Mailmodo’s free plan allow per month in 2026?

Mailmodo’s free plan allows 100 emails per month across up to 1,000 subscribers. That is enough to test how the interactive components render, not to run real campaigns — team marketing starts at Essentials, $99/mo with 10,000 emails.

How much is Mailmodo Essentials per month in 2026?

Mailmodo Essentials is $99/mo, covering 10,000 emails and up to 10,000 subscribers. The cost only makes sense when your emails carry a conversion goal that benefits from interaction — booking a demo, completing a survey, RSVPing to an event. For a plain newsletter, it is hard to justify against $10–20/mo alternatives.

Do interactive emails convert better than static ones in 2026?

Vendors in this category, Mailmodo included, publish case studies claiming meaningful lifts for in-email actions such as booking and survey completion. We have not run an independent test, and published lift figures come from the vendors or their customers, so treat them as directional rather than benchmarks. The mechanism is plausible — removing the click-through step removes a drop-off point — but the size of the effect depends heavily on the offer.

How many recipients can actually see AMP interactive emails in 2026?

Not all of them. AMP for Email is supported by Gmail and a subset of other clients; Outlook’s older desktop builds and several mobile clients are not among them. Mailmodo falls back to a static HTML version automatically, so unsupported clients still receive a usable email — but you should assume a significant share of your list sees the fallback, and design the static version as the real one.

Does Mailmodo affect deliverability in 2026?

AMP content is delivered alongside a static HTML part, so the sending mechanics are conventional and deliverability is governed by the usual factors — domain authentication, list hygiene, sending reputation. We have no independent placement measurement for Mailmodo and do not publish one.

How much is Mailmodo Pro per month in 2026?

Mailmodo Pro is $399/mo, covering 50,000 emails and up to 50,000 subscribers. That step up suits teams already running interactive campaigns at scale. If you send under roughly 5,000 emails a month, MailerLite at $10/mo covers the basics for a fraction of the cost.
